— — Maryland’s first gourmet grocery store is slated to open today, with more than 600 items from the grocery industry and specialty retailers set to be sold in its first day. MARYLAND (AP) Marylands first gourmand food market opens today with more 600 items, including: •Gourmet meats, cheeses, condiments, and salads •Moody’s grocery store, including its gourmet meats and cheese •Mills-brand pasta, including their pasta and pastas •Marlboro cigarettes, including a range of smokes •Livestrong, a medical marijuana dispensary and marijuana-related products, and its specialty cannabis products, including oil and concentrates •Oriental brands, including Boca and Coco •Coca-Cola, and the brands of Coca-Cola and Pepsi •CVS and Rite Aid •MGM, which is a subsidiary of CVS Health, and other specialty retailers.
Marylanders first gurantee the new grocery store will be the first of its kind in the nation.
It is located in the historic downtown mall at 830 Maryland Ave.
The retail store will have more than 650 items from grocery stores, specialty retailers and restaurants.
The first 60 items to be on sale will include more than 150 specialty items.
This is Maryland’s first retail store for gourmet meat, cheese, condiment, and salad products.
Maryland officials are optimistic that the new retail outlet will attract new customers and will generate jobs.
“This is a great first step in our mission to attract and retain consumers to the state of Maryland,” said David L. Rennie, Maryland’s chief financial officer.
“The opening of this new store will further our efforts to attract more business to the area.
This will create jobs, and create an economic impact for our region and the region as a whole.”
The state has not yet determined how many jobs will be created or how much the new store’s sales will generate.
Rennie said the new location will create 2,000 new jobs.
Marylands new gourmet grocer is opening today to provide customers with more of their favorite foods and beverages.
It’s the latest in a series of initiatives Maryland officials have launched since January, including an initiative to attract high-quality high-end consumer goods from the state’s top companies.
Marylanders are excited to see the new Gourmet Foods Market, which will feature a full line of gourmet groceries, gourmet dining options, and gourmet desserts.
Gourmet Foods Markets are now available in Maryland.
